About Aurora Telecom

Established in 2000, Aurora Telecom is Ireland's leading backhaul dark fibre and co-location service provider. We own and operate our fibre backhaul and Metropolitan network covering all the main routes across the country. We supply to carriers and telecom operators (fixed / wireless / mobile), wholesale providers, corporate and public sector customers. 

We are continuing to invest in our state-of-the-art national fibre network. We completed the ambitious project linking from Cork to Dublin via Waterford and Carlow. This provides our customers with a fully resilient national network, with the lowest latency in the market. We are now embarking on our latest expansion to offer customers an alternative route from Limerick to Dublin.

Aurora Telecom is a business unit of Gas Networks Ireland.  By virtue of it being part of Gas Networks Ireland, Aurora Telecom combines telecommunications expertise with that of advanced network design, construction and project management to offer a best-in-class fibre network.

Aurora Telecom is a division of Gas Networks Ireland, a state-owned company. Together, we manage and maintain two of Ireland’s strategic national assets – telecoms and gas infrastructure.

Large ​portions of Aurora Telecom’s fibre network ​is laid adjacent to the gas network. Our customers benefit as regular aerial and on-the-ground surveillance ensures the highest levels of security and operational continuity.
